Tim has a track record of bringing organizational health and increased collaboration among churches toward a common mission. House of Hope KC is a 24 hour staffed, family-style environment within a residential area. We have capacity for 23 residents and are committed to individual, customized care. With Arahuete leading the renovation, alongside project manager and longtime art and design consultant Tim Gleason, Burkle's team believes the house, when completed, will finally be counted among Lautner’s most stunning architectural masterpieces. In 2021, Hope of the Valley expanded into the Antelope Valley, launched two Bridge Housing Shelters in the West San Fernando Valley and opened the very first Tiny Home Villages in the City of Los Angeles. With many thanks to Councilmen Paul Krekorian, John Lee, Bob Blumenfield, Kevin DeLeon and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Hope of the Valley is opening/operating six innovative, cost effective and life-changing Tiny Home Villages!

Many families cannot afford to place their loved ones in larger Assisted Living Facilities. But here at Hope House we work with each family individually to ensure you can afford the best care for your loved ones. We work with the Assisted Living Waiver Program, which helps pay for qualified low income, Medi-Cal eligible seniors and persons with disabilities, to live in a home like setting, who would otherwise require placement at a nursing facility. We understand that it is a 24-hour job to provide the appropriate care for your elderly loved ones, which is why we offer both permanent residency and respite care.

But the common thread among all unsheltered Angelenos is the need for a safe place to sleep while we help them find a stable home and a better future. Made by Pallet Shelter, a Washington based company, each tiny home measures eight feet by eight feet and has a locking door, four windows with screens, heating, cooling and electricity, as well as a fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide monitor. The company also provides storage and a folding bed that can be doubled up into a bunk and stowed away when not in use. We exist to prevent, reduce and eliminate poverty, hunger and homelessness by offering immediate assistance and long term solutions. Since the 1980s, Hope House has been working with adult addicts who have co-occurring mental and physical disorders.
Woodworkers Brian Cooney Sr. and son Brian Cooney Jr. were among the many artisans involved in the restoration project. They installed African mahogany on many of the home’s interior walls and used Lautner’s designs to build at least a dozen new doors. Shortly after word got out in 2017 that Arahuete was overseeing the renovation of the Hope house for Ron Burkle, two plucky Dutch architecture buffs —attempting to document every house, pool and carport designed by Lautner — decided they needed to act fast. Some architectural scholars say that Lautner’s Arango-Marbrisa house is a masterpiece, one of the most beautiful residential designs in the world. The kind, well-trained and patient staff at Hope House (Cedar) works every day to help my son develop the skills to participate in the community.

I feel that I can always trust Hope House to do the best for Gregory and his needs. He has been a resident for over 20 years and I know that he really is comfortable with where he is, and with the people who care for him. We believe your life will be transformed for purpose by encountering the presence of Jesus. Our prayer is that you experience life changing transformation as you grow in your personal relationship with God. It looks like ordinary people living out an extraordinary story together. As a way of saying, “thank you” to Tiny Home Sponsors, Hope of the Valley is offering to place a naming plaque on the unit….Sponsored by….In Honor of …or In Memory of.
Our staff consists of part time nurses and highly qualified caregivers who are certified in CPR, AED and First Aid training through the American Heart Association. Hope House is ADA-compliant for non-ambulatory individuals who require wheelchair accessibility. We also have fire sprinklers installed throughout the house to ensure your loved ones are safe at all times.
While Arahuete and Gleason were in Mexico with Burkle, Hope house supervisor Lorenzo Jauregui and Burkle’s ever-present security team kept a close watch on the Palm Springs estate. As Arahuete was finishing the renovation in Palm Springs, Burkle decided to organize an epic trip for the architect — a visit to the Arango-Marbrisa house that she had worked on so many years ago in Acapulco. Even though Arahuete had just finished six years of study for her architecture degree at Argentina’s National University campus in Buenos Aires, he assigned her to oversee the construction of the Arango-Marbrisa house on a hillside in Acapulco, Mexico. Your compassionate contribution has the power to transform lives, uplift communities, and create a positive ripple effect that resonates far beyond your imagination.
